Our story began in 2006, when James H. Smith founded J.H. Smith & Associates as a private business consulting and media company. His purpose was simple: help small businesses grow stronger, operate smarter, and compete with confidence.
Over the years, James worked directly with hundreds of business owners who needed more than ads. They needed direction, better systems, stronger marketing, clearer messaging, improved customer service, and practical guidance they could actually use.
His experience in business ownership, publishing, advertising, marketing, and public program leadership gave him a clear understanding of what small businesses face every day. Payroll pressure. Missed calls. Slow weeks. Employee challenges. Customer demands. Competition. Growth problems. Real business stress.
That understanding became the foundation of everything we do.
In September 2025, the decision was made to expand the trusted work of J.H. Smith & Associates into a larger, stronger organization. In May 2026, that vision became R54Media, LLC.
